Location: Dallas, TX

Industry: Property Management / Affordable Housing

Pay: $80,000 – $100,000/year (based on experience)

About Our Client:

Addison Group is partnering with a well-established property management organization to hire a Tax Compliance Manager for their corporate office in Dallas, TX. This company has a strong presence in affordable housing, managing properties that participate in the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program and other federal/state housing initiatives. This position is being hired due to the upcoming retirement of the current compliance leader.

Job Description:

This is a full-time, on-site position responsible for managing compliance across a portfolio of affordable housing properties. The Tax Compliance Manager will ensure regulatory adherence, prepare for audits, and support property staff with compliance-related training and oversight. The role requires deep knowledge of LIHTC compliance and the ability to work independently in a structured, process-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and audit tenant files for LIHTC and other affordable housing program compliance
  • Maintain compliance documentation and reporting to prepare for agency desk audits (e.g., TDHCA)
  • Collaborate with property staff to ensure ongoing program adherence
  • Train and support site teams on regulations and updates
  • Manage file submissions for new move-ins, recertifications, and unit changes
  • Ensure compliance with multiple funding sources, including HUD, Section 8, and Rural Development
  • Serve as the primary contact for regulatory agencies regarding compliance matters
  • Supervise one direct report (Compliance Specialist)

Qualifications:

  • 3–5+ years of experience in affordable housing compliance
  • Prior experience managing compliance from a corporate or high-volume property level
  • Certifications preferred: HCCP, COS, or TCS
  • Strong familiarity with TDHCA regulations and audit processes
