Job Description

Description: Security guards perform a variety of duties in support of school safety, visitor
management, and campus security.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required, additional postsecondary training in
  security or law enforcement preferred
• TN Unarmed Guard Licence required
• Valid Tennessee Driver's License
• SLPI:ASL rating of Survival Plus preferred. American Sign Language (ASL) sign classes and skill development support available for selected qualified applicants who do not meet the rating level.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: These are not exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

• Monitors alarms, cameras, and campus access
• Conducts patrols on foot and in vehicles
• Must be able to conduct patrol on foot and able to remain in one location or position for
  extended periods of time
• Capable of maintaining order in stressful, dangerous situations
• Able to communicate clearly and able to respond to emergency personnel
