RETAIL STORE ASSOCIATE Job Summary:

We currently have an opportunity available for a Retail Store Associate in our Surplus City store. We are seeking a dynamic, friendly, out-going person to assist customers and be the face of our brand at our Carlisle store. The Store Associate completes tasks that support the Store Manager and overall customer base. You will have the opportunity to build lasting relationships with customers, guiding them in their purchasing decisions to ensure their satisfaction. Your role will also involve maintaining the visual standards of the store’s unique environment, restocking shelves and ensuring all merchandise is displayed in an appealing manner. As part of our retail team, you will enjoy a fast-paced environment while developing your sales skills and product knowledge. Store Associate Job Duties include but are not limited to:

• Greet customers as they enter the location.
• Answer customer questions, respond to customer requests and resolve customer issues.
• Complete accurate and efficient register transactions.
• Perform inventory duties such as unloading, scanning and stocking products onto the shelves.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required skills include but are not limited to:

• Excellent critical and problem-solving skills.
• Customer service skills.
• Written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to perform simple calculations.
• Extensive knowledge about the store product and services and customer-related policies.
• Ability to operate or to quickly learn the store's point-of-sale system.
• Integrity.
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
• General knowledge of Fabrics and Crafts is a plus.
• Knowledge of Hardware is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of standing and walking throughout the retail space.
• Must be able to bend, reach, and lift up to 50 lbs.

Education and Experience:

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous retail experience preferred.
• Successful completion of the job training period.

Leadership Skills:

• Demonstrate leadership qualities and promote a positive, safe and clean work atmosphere.

Store Hours: 

• Great Hours!
• Mon - Fri: 9am to 6pm; Sat - 8am to 5pm; Sunday 10am - 5pm.

Must be available to work weekends on a rotating basis.
