React Native developer
Duration: The duration of the engagement is 2-4 weeks open to be long-term if the talent is a good fit for the role.
The client is open to the location but the talent needs to have a 1-hour minimum overlap with the Pacific time zone

[General Information]
Our client is a robotics company that offers competitive robotics coaching from K to 12 and is now venturing into app development. This new initiative aims to create an electronic companion app for seniors, which will assist them with memory impairments by recording and retrieving communications and providing reminders using large language models (LLMs). The app is being developed using React Native, with additional functionalities implemented in React Native Plugins in Swift and Kotlin. The app uses an offline LLM and Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) for understanding and responding to our customers. The app has completed private testing and is pending launch in the Apple App Store. They are looking for a strong builder to help grow the app with MVP+1 features. The app integrates with an AWS cloud based infrastructure that utilizes Serverless components (API Gateway, Lambda Functions, Bedrock), Vector database and Infrastructure as Code.
Tasks and Deliverables:
Enhance and improve the use of GenAI LLM models for both offline and online scenarios.
Develop and launch the Android version of the app.
Maintain and improve the existing app features.
Deploy updates and new features as needed.
Ensure the app remains responsive and bug-free.
Required Experience:
Proficiency in React Native for mobile app development.
Experience with deploying applications to the App Store and Google Play.
Experience with platform specific features such as In-App subscriptions, Apple/Google sign-in
Experience with GenAI patterns such as Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), Function calling, Agentic workflows and integrations with OpenAI and AWS APIs.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
Nice to have Experience:
Experience in integrating native functionalities using Swift and Kotlin
Experience in developing AWS cloud infrastructure including Serverless components (API Gateway, Lambda Functions, Bedrock), Vector databases and Infrastructure as Code
