Under the general direction of the commander, the duties of the position include, but are not limited to: Performing administrative duties relating to management of a communications center, reviewing and applying pertinent provisions of labor contracts, personnel rules, and department regulations; preparing or overseeing preparation of a variety of written documents; performing normal first-line supervisory duties when necessary; providing overall supervision of communications center staff; providing for and conducting training on communications center policies and procedures; preparing and coordinating employees’ work schedules; reviewing and evaluating employees’ work performance; providing positive leadership and support of team-building efforts and overseeing the selection of new communications center personnel.

The Bakersfield Communications Center, Public Safety Dispatcher II work shift is determined by the Area Commander. The shift could vary from the alternate work weeks (5/8's, 4/10's, 3/12's).
Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to appointment. To satisfy the minimum qualification requirement with education, you must include your unofficial transcript(s)/diploma for initial review. Original diploma or official, sealed transcripts will be required prior to the start date.
