Phlebotomist I - Middleburg Heights, OH 44130
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 6:45 AM - 3:45 PM | Rotational Saturdays, 7:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Pay Range: $17 - $21/hour
Dean's Professional Services is now hiring a reliable and skilled Phlebotomist I (Patient Services Representative I) for a full-time opportunity in Middleburg Heights, OH (44130) . This is a great opportunity for candidates seeking a consistent weekday schedule with occasional Saturday rotations, in a fast-paced and patient-focused environment.
Position Summary:
The Phlebotomist I serves as a key point of contact for patients and is responsible for collecting high-quality blood specimens for laboratory testing. You will play an essential role in helping patients through both routine and important health screenings by ensuring specimens are collected safely, accurately, and efficiently. This role requires exceptional phlebotomy skills, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to patient care.
Responsibilities:
* Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws, including pediatric and geriatric collections
* Accurately verify patient identity and label all specimens in the patient's presence
* Maintain clear and professional communication with patients, peers, and supervisors
* Prepare specimens for lab testing in accordance with established procedures
* Ensure proper documentation and compliance with safety and quality standards
* Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment
* Demonstrate flexibility to support rotating Saturday shifts and other coverage need
Qualifications:
* Education: High school diploma or equivalent required
* Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred
* Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in CA, NV, and WA)
* Experience:
* Minimum 6 months of phlebotomy experience required
* 1+ year of experience preferred, including work in clinical or patient service settings
* Prior customer service experience in healthcare, retail, or related environments preferred
* Skills:
* Strong phlebotomy techniques with ability to work with all age groups
* Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain patient confidentiality
* Comfortable working independently with minimal on-site supervision
* Proficient with keyboarding and electronic data entry
* Flexible and available for overtime, weekends, and occasional holiday coverage as needed
