Job Description

Position Overview We are seeking a skilled Machinist to set up and operate a variety of manual and CNC machine tools to produce precision parts, fixtures, and work holdings. This role involves both fabricating new components and modifying existing ones, applying strong knowledge of shop math, machining procedures, and metal properties. Key Responsibilities Set up and operate manual mills/lathes, drill presses, jig bores, grinders, sanders, and CNC machines. Machine parts to precise specifications using appropriate tools and measurement instruments. Read, interpret, and create blueprints for fixtures, tooling, and parts. Calculate dimensions/tolerances using geometry, trigonometry, and precision measuring tools (micrometers, depth gauges, ID/OD gauges). Troubleshoot machine/tooling issues, maintain tooling speeds/feed rates, and ensure optimal machine performance. Follow 5S workplace organization practices and maintain a clean, safe work environment. Qualifications ~2–5 years of traditional machining experience; job shop and CNC experience a plus. ~ Ability to hold tight machining tolerances. ~ Proficient with blueprint reading, conversational programming, and precision measurement. ~ Strong math skills, including geometry and trigonometry. ~ Knowledge of tooling technology, speeds, and feeds.
