Travel Requirements: 30% - 50% travel required with overnight stays as needed

Position Summary:
The Lighting Controls Specialist is responsible for working with our specifiers, electrical contractors, and internal sales team to produce the required documentation for lighting control designs, control quotations, and equipment start-up.
Key Responsibilities:
Draft project submittal documentation and CAD designs for commercial and industrial lighting projects.
Interpret markups and generate accurate drawings under the direction of the Controls Manager.
Revise and track drawing changes throughout the submittal process.
Assist Sales in quoting electrical controls for projects.
Design, specify, test, and demonstrate electrical/control systems.
Develop cost-efficient control Bills of Materials aligning with project specifications.
Conduct field service/start-up, commissioning, troubleshooting, equipment placement, and repair.
Maintain knowledge of various lighting and control products.
Provide lighting control layouts and product substitutions to support electrical designs and construction industry specifications.
Prepare bills of material, one-line schematics, and electrical drawings using AutoCAD, AGI32, and other software.
Set up or program basic control systems per customer specifications.
Communicate with specifiers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project success.
Handle information requests and collaborate with factory representatives for issue resolution.
Participate in training sessions as needed.
Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
Required Qualifications:
Ability to read, understand, and interpret specifications, architectural, and electrical drawings.
Experience with wiring diagrams, electrical engineering, or lighting layouts.
Knowledge of electricity concepts and electrical troubleshooting.
Proficiency in drafting technical drawings and conveying engineering design concepts.
Strong collaboration skills with engineers, distributors, and contractors.
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office; familiarity with AGI32 and Revit preferred.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to perform under pressure.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build long-term customer relationships.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift 15 pounds as needed.
