The Genetic Counselor II will serve as a key clinical and research partner by acting in a highly specialized role focused on inherited eye diseases and emerging ocular therapeutics. The Genetic Counselor II will support the UPMC Vision Institute within the Department of Ophthalmology at 1622 Locust Place in Pittsburgh, PA. This full-time role works Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with the option for up to one remote day per week depending on service line needs. The counselor will provide comprehensive genetic risk assessment, patient education, and care coordination for inherited ophthalmic conditions while serving as a resource to clinicians and trainees. This position is part of UPMC's established genetic counselor career ladder, offering opportunities for professional growth and advancement. Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances: American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC) certified genetic counselor who holds a PA license. + American Board of Genetic Counseling + Certified Ge netics Counselor + Act 34 Genetic Counselor I: Educational and Knowledge Requirements + Master of Science in Human Genetics/Genetic Counseling from an American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC) accredited institution.
