RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce has an exciting opportunity for a Data Scientist at a financial client. This is contract-to-hire and the candidate must reside in Texas, preferably Dallas or Houston.

Summary: As a Data Scientist, you will be responsible for utilizing quantitative and qualitative collection and analysis tools to provide data-driven insights that help the business achieve its strategic goals and priorities. You will use your analytical skills, innovative personality and desire to build relationships to collaborate with multiple lines of businesses.

Duties:

• Data Scientist will collect and analyze large and complex data sets to identify patterns and trends
• Manipulate and clean results to build predictive and prescriptive models and present the findings to business partners and leaders
• Develop and apply statistical models to predict trends and outcomes
• Design and implement machine learning algorithms to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify data-driven solutions to business problems
• As a Data Scientist, you will communicate findings and recommendations to non-technical stakeholders
• Continuously monitor data and update models as needed
• Stay up to date with industry trends and new technologies in data science
• Always take action using Integrity, Caring, and Excellence to achieve all-win outcomes

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or related field and 4+ years of relevant work experience; Or corresponding Master's degree with 2+ years of experience
• Experience with hands-on data extraction and data wrangling from internal and external systems
• Familiarity with database technologies such as SQL and NoSQL
• Familiarity with cloud tools and LLMs
• Proficient in statistical analysis and machine learning techniques
• Strong programming skills in Python or R, Spark, PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras, or other analytical/model-building programming languages
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Additional Preferred Skills:

• Experience in building accelerated AI/ML utilities, modern AI/ML techniques (GAN's, Generative AI, etc.)
• Knowledge of Cloud native tools and ops for AI/ML
• Background in financial business-like banking, insurance or mortgage
• Passion for cross-functional collaboration and team leadership

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
