Are you a driven and experienced Commercial Underwriting Specialist looking for an exciting new opportunity? This is a remote-based position, offering the flexibility to work from home while staying connected with our agents and policyholders across Northeastern Ohio.
What You'll Do:
Review, approve, and process commercial insurance applications, ensuring alignment with our underwriting guidelines and contributing to our profitability and growth objectives.
Become a product expert! You'll develop a deep understanding of our commercial insurance offerings, pricing strategies, and coverage details, empowering you to make informed decisions.
Build strong relationships with our agency partners through regular in-person visits and effective communication, fostering collaboration and achieving shared goals.
Share your expertise and mentor team members, contributing to their professional development and the overall success of the underwriting team.
Utilize your technical skills and systems knowledge to efficiently manage your workload and contribute to the achievement of company-wide objectives.
What You'll Bring:
A Bachelor's degree, formal insurance education, or equivalent professional experience.
5-8 years of proven success in commercial lines underwriting, including experience in developing and nurturing new agency relationships.
A relevant professional designation such as Associate in Underwriting (AU), Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), or a similar credential.
The ability to travel regularly within your assigned territory in Northeastern Ohio, with occasional overnight trips.
A valid driver's license and a commitment to safe driving practices.
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, allowing you to effectively interact with agents, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
Strong organizational skills, the ability to work independently, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
