Job Description

GENERAL OVERVIEW OF KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Clinician meeting the requirements of both a Behavioral Consultant and Mobile Therapist will provide clinical direction, therapy, and consultation services to consumers across school, home and community settings.

 ESSENTIAL & CORE FUNCTIONS

1. Complete comprehensive assessments of the consumers.

2. Using the strengths-based approach identify problems and design an ITP with appropriate and reasonable goals.

3. Identify behavioral goals in measurable terms and selection of appropriate interventions for inclusion in the ITP.

4. Review, analyze and interpret data to determine any changes to goals and objectives included in the ITP.

5. Direct the implementation of behavioral interventions in the ITP.

6. Provide consultation to BHTs on behavioral management protocols.

7. Review of clinical outcomes for the behavioral interventions being implemented in the treatment plan with the youth, young adult, or parent or caregiver of the child to determine effectiveness of the individual services on a monthly basis.

8. Provide individual therapy

9. Provide family therapy

10. Assist with crisis stabilization

11. Complete Progress Reviews every 90 days.

12. Submit monthly reports summarizing program status and outcomes.

13. Ensures outcome data is collected, reported, complied accurately and in a timely manner.

14. Complete FBAs as needed to obtain BHT services for consumers.

15. Implement evidence-based practices with fidelity.

16. Review of consumer files assuring regulatory and funding standards are met and adhered to.

17. Perform home and community visits.

18. Serves as a liaison to adults across all areas in the child’s life

19. Facilitate discharge planning and implement discharge plans.

20. Meet service productivity expectations.

21. Complete all paperwork within specified time frames.

22. Maintain an understanding of agency policies and procedures.

23. Participate in and adhere to Individualized Training Plan.

24. Attend and participate in supervision in accordance to regulatory standards.

25. Adhere to WES’s Code of Ethics and complies with State Mental Health Code.

26. Attend trainings as required by WES.

27. Assure continuous quality assurance/program development.

28. Comply with WES standards for service delivery.

29. Maintain consumer confidentiality.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.

 

Requirements

1. Individuals who provide individual services through mobile therapy services shall meet one of the following:

a. Be licensed in this Commonwealth as a psychologist, professional counselor, marriage and family therapist or clinical social worker.

b. Be licensed in this Commonwealth as a social worker or a behavior specialist and have a graduate degree that required a clinical or mental health direct service practicum from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the United States Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or have an equivalent degree from a foreign college or university that has been evaluated by the Association of International Credential Evaluators, Inc. or the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services. The Department will accept a general equivalency report from the listed evaluator agencies to verify a foreign degree or its equivalency.

c. Have a minimum of 1 year of full-time experience in providing mental health direct services to children, youth or young adults and a graduate degree with at least nine credits specific to clinical practice in psychology, social work or counseling from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the United States Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or an equivalent degree from a foreign college or university that has been evaluated by the Association of International Credential Evaluators, Inc. or the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services. The Department will accept a general equivalency report from the listed evaluator agencies to verify a foreign degree or its equivalency.

OR

Completed a clinical or mental health direct service practicum and have a graduate degree with a least nine graduate leave credits specific to clinical practice in psychology, social work, education, counseling or a related field from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the United States Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or have an equivalent degree from a foreign college or university that has been evaluated by the Association of International Credential Evaluators, Inc. or the National

a. Association of Credential Evaluation Services. The Department will accept a general equivalency report from the listed evaluator agencies to verify a foreign degree or its equivalency.

2. Individuals who provide individual services through behavior consultation services must meet one of the following:

a. Be licensed in this Commonwealth as a behavior specialist.

b. Have a certification as a BCBA or other graduate-level certification in behavior analysis that is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies or the American National Standards Institute.

c. Have a graduate degree in ABA from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the United States Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or have an equivalent degree from a foreign college or university that has been evaluated by the Association of International Credential Evaluators, Inc. or the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services. The Department will accept a general equivalency report from the listed evaluator agencies to verify a foreign degree or its equivalency.

d. Have a minimum of 1 year of full-time experience in providing mental health direct services to children, youth or young adults and a graduate degree in psychology, social work, education, or counseling from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the United States Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or an equivalent degree from a foreign college or university that has been evaluated by the Association of International Credential Evaluators, Inc. or the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services. The Department will accept a general equivalency report from the listed evaluator agencies to verify a foreign degree or its equivalency.

e. Completed a clinical or mental health direct service practicum and have a graduate degree in psychology, social work, education, counseling or a related field from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the United States Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or have an equivalent degree from a foreign college or university that has been evaluated by the Association of International Credential Evaluators, Inc. or the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services. The Department will accept a general equivalency report from the listed evaluator agencies to verify a foreign degree or its equivalency.

OR

f. Individuals who provide behavior consultation services to children diagnosed with ASD for the treatment of ASD shall be licensed in this Commonwealth as a psychologist, professional counselor, marriage and family therapist, clinical social worker, social worker, behavior specialist, certified registered nurse practitioner or a professional with a scope of practice that includes overseeing the provision of ABA services

3. Knowledge of community resources, evidence based practices, and trauma informed and culturally competent care preferred.
