• Monday–Saturday, hours vary 7:30 AM–6:00 PM
• W2, full-time
ROLE IMPACT
This position plays a vital role in improving the health outcomes of women, infants, and children through the WIC program. By conducting nutritional assessments and offering targeted education and support, the Nutritionist ensures participants receive optimal care and guidance for nutritional well-being.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Conduct professional nutritional assessments to determine WIC eligibility based on clinical data and nutritional history
• Provide tailored nutrition counseling and create care plans for participants, including high-risk dietary assessments
• Educate participants through classes, written materials, and individual or group sessions to encourage healthy nutritional habits
• Refer clients to appropriate medical and social services and collaborate with healthcare professionals on patient care
• Prepare growth charts, prenatal weight gain grids, and dietary recalls to assess and track nutritional status
LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition or Dietetics
• No license required

• Nutritional risk screening
• Growth chart and lab interpretation
• High-risk dietary assessment
• Prenatal and pediatric nutrition planning
• Breastfeeding education and support
• WIC food package planning
• Health goal setting and participant coaching
• Nutrition education material development
• Community health referral coordination
• Must be fluent Bilingual in Spanish
PREFERRED SKILLS
• 2+ years of experience as a Dietitian or in a nutritional setting
• Knowledge of WIC and related community programs
• Strong communication and counseling skills
