Major Responsibilities
Maintenance of anesthesia equipment and supplies
Participates in the preparation of the Operating Rooms prior to each surgical procedure
Participates in maintenance of the Anesthesia Department
Education/Experience Required
High School education 1 year hospital experience in any area
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required
Ability to use computer keyboard Knowledge of medical terminology
CPR
Physicial Requirements And Working Conditions
Ability to successfully complete hospital-based training for Anesthesia Technician Ability to rotate shifts to provide coverage Willing to be called off based on unit demands Exposure to various contagious disease, radiation, chemical, caustic materials, electrical equipment and hazards associated with their use Ability to handle multiple requests for assistance and to work in a fast paced environment
If position has direct patient care or direct patient contact the following lifting requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 06/01/2015. Ability to lift up to35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
