Independently reviews the travel advance and most complex travel claims using the California Automated Travel Expense and Advances Reimbursement System (CalATERS Global). This includes approving, rejecting, or altering claims and advances based on criteria established by departmental policy, State regulations, and applicable Memorandums of Understanding. Responsible for the reporting of outstanding travel advance for separating departmental employees. In charge of reviewing original source documents and separation notices to collect unpaid disbursements from departmental employees. Composes first, second, and third outstanding notification letters to initiate collection of unpaid funds. Maintains discretion and confidentiality while working with Human Resources Section to gather data for separating employees for notification and collection of outstanding travel balances. Acts as the departmental point of contact for FI$CAal and CalATERS systems; reconciles data between FI$Cal and CalATERS systems and correct discrepancies. Performs other duties as indicated on the duty statement.
